Termite Inspections:
Did you know that 1 in 3 houses will be affected by termites in its lifetime? Australian standards say that every house should have an inspection at least every 12 months. Without an inspection you run the risk of termites doing enormous damage to your home. There is no insurance policy that covers you for the damage termites do. Regular inspections are the most important part of managing termites before they do damage. There are two inspection standards which outline the minimum requirements for a competent inspector to fufil during an inspection:
1. AS 3660.1
This is a Visual Termite Inspection designed to detect the presence of subterranean termites only.
2. As 4349.3
A Full Visual Timber Pest Inspection is designed to detect the presence, not just of subterranean termites, but also borers of seasoned timber, chemical delignification and wood rot/fungi.
MPM uses AS 4349.3 in all inspections at no additional cost.

Eradication of any existing termite infestation is important to stop
damage spreading. This is usually done by applying a chemical to
the active workings. The termites then take this back to their nests
and as they groom themselves, they pass it through the nest.
Once this is done the nest will gradually die off.
